We are excited to introduce our own floral recipes!
What is a recipe?
Put simply, a floral recipe is a list of ingredients required for a flower arrangement or bouquet. On a romantic level, it evokes well-worn notebooks with handwritten scripts of floral formulas tried and tested over the years. On a practical level, it is an essential guide with all the necessary knowledge to create an arrangement ensuring the correct number of stems are ordered.
Why ‘The Recipe’?
Faux flowers are undeniably making a massive come back, and it's not hard to see why. The quality, diversity and botanical integrity is more impressive today than ever.
Dahlia Most Divine
Jo (AKA the 'Brown' in Brown and Ginger) is a huge fan of dahlias. Her patio is full of pots that are awash with colour and the delicate shapes that give dahlias an extra dimension of beauty.
We love the white and the pink dahlia petals as much as the next person but, we think you'll agree, dark dusky purple dahlias are something else.
So, in honour of the humble dahlia, here is our offering to bring a crisp Autumn feel to your home, with love from us.
We chopped all the stems for this one as we wanted to use this gorgeous heavy-set, short vase. We did each piece individually though, so start placing your eucalyptus around the case, there should just be enough to give you a nice coverage and provide a framework for the flowers to nestle in.
Next add the cosmos sprays, pull apart all the stems as these too help provide structure for the other flowers.
Next add the flowers and berries in a way that seems incidental but pleasing.
Each item's dispatch time is visible in the countdown timer just below the price, there is free UK shipping applied to every order with no minimum spend - yay!

Here at Brown and Ginger we promise to do our best to have a positive impact on our environment, we've switched to using paper tape for over 99% of our orders which is not only easier for you to open (no scissors required!) but it's easier on the environment. We also use 100% starch packing chips which simply melt away under water and FSC certified voidfill paper.
Only where absolutely neccessary do we use plastic packaging which has been re-used from other packaging, come with the product from the factory or, when shipping mirrors or particularly delicate items, to provide the extra protection to stop the items breaking in transit.
We're working with our suppliers to reduce their use of plastic and will always do our best to ensure we're being as ethical as possible in all of our practices.
